Featuring the
hit songs "I Know Him So Well" and "One
Night in Bangkok", the game of chess has
suddenly become trendy!
As the young
American contender adds a bit of excitement
to the otherwise dull and un-newsworthy
International Chess Championships his
second, a young English-woman, falls in love
with the Russian Grand Master. Behind the
scenes the politicians try to manipulate the
championships for their own political gain,
using the central characters like pawns in a
game of chess.
With Lyrics by
Tim Rice, Chess features a lush, romantic
score written by the male members of Abba
shortly after the break up of the group. The
music has been described as nothing short of
breathtaking.
