Past Workshops
Vocal
Master-Classes
Sunday 2nd &
Sunday 9th August 2009
Woodside Hall.
Calling all
members! Due to popular demand we are holding two separate
master-class days for individual tuition in
singing/performance. We hope you will all come along and
benefit from the experience either as a participant or as an
observer.
There will be
two tutors at each workshop and participants will have the
opportunity to have an individual session with each tutor as
well as participating in some short group session. The two
tutors this year are Ian Kennedy and Roderick Earle and I am
delighted that they are able to do these sessions for us.
Both tutors still sing professionally as well as teaching
students of all levels of ability. Ian is a Professor of
Singing at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and also
Musical director of a Choral Society; Roderick teaches at
The Royal College of Music and also directs a ladies summer
choir in Colchester. Their knowledge of musical theatre and
classical repertoire is expansive and they have a
wonderfully easy teaching manner which is highly motivating
as well as being a truly delightful and motivating learning
experience.
The two days
will have 15 places each and you are welcome to apply for
more than one place if you wish to have more one-to-one
tuition. Places will be £50 for members and £65 for
non-members. There will be a concert on Saturday 29th August
7.45pm, providing an opportunity for some of you to show off
some of your newly honed skills- this will be a combined
concert with the choir.
