This Christmas we have been busy with local community projects. We took part in Hitchin Information Centre’s Christmas Bauble Project to adorn the town Christmas tree in the Market Square. We also entered the Hitchin Christmas Tree Festival which was held at Holy Saviour Church on the weekend of 11th and 12th December 2021 – and we won! Our tree was placed first in the ‘Adult Groups and Charities Class’ 

Our theme was ‘Sing and Be Merry!’ and we decorated the tree with hand-made decorations made from sheet music and blue coloured card.  These decorations were made by our members over three enjoyable social crafting sessions. But this was no ordinary Christmas tree, it was also an interactive Christmas tree. Visitors to the festival could use the QR codes hanging on the tree to watch a very festive message from the society. Huge thank you to all of our crafters. Go team! Thank you also to everyone who voted for us.
